{"id":587,"date":"2011-04-20T11:11:07","date_gmt":"2011-04-20T17:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ravaeerickson.com\/?p=587"},"modified":"2011-04-20T11:11:14","modified_gmt":"2011-04-20T17:11:14","slug":"ecclesiastes-48-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ravaeerickson.com\/?p=587","title":{"rendered":"Ecclesiastes 4:8-12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> 8 There was a man all alone;<br \/>\n   he had neither son nor brother.<br \/>\nThere was no end to his toil,<br \/>\n   yet his eyes were not content with his wealth.<br \/>\n\u201cFor whom am I toiling,\u201d he asked,<br \/>\n   \u201cand why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?\u201d<br \/>\nThis too is meaningless\u2014<br \/>\n   a miserable business!<\/p>\n<p> 9 Two are better than one,<br \/>\n   because they have a good return for their labor:<br \/>\n10 If either of them falls down,<br \/>\n   one can help the other up.<br \/>\nBut pity anyone who falls<br \/>\n   and has no one to help them up.<br \/>\n11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.<br \/>\n   But how can one keep warm alone?<br \/>\n12 Though one may be overpowered,<br \/>\n   two can defend themselves.<br \/>\nA cord of three strands is not quickly broken.<\/p>\n<p>This passage has always been one of my favorites. I looked forward to having a best friend to share stories and life in general with in high school and the Lord blessed me with one.<br \/>\nI prayed fervently for my future husband growing up and constantly used this verse in my prayers as a reason &#8220;why&#8221; I needed a husband in the future. And when I met him he fell under the best friend category for two years before anything else happened with our relationship. When it did&#8230;well, that is a story for another time.<br \/>\nThis passage was read at our wedding. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>8 There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother.
